There seems to be a lot of turnover for this business nestled at the corner of College Avenue, but I hope Haruki is a mainstay. It's unremarkable, sure, but definitely has a solid offering of western sushi rolls, bentos, and noodle entrees. If you're craving sushi, Haruki will hit the spot but a bullseye might be a bit of a stretch. I ordered the rainbow roll which came out incredibly fast. The hot dish my friend ordered, a Soy Garlic Ramen, also came out in less than ten minutes. Both dishes were good not great, but the service was impeccable. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and patient even despite our indecisiveness to choose an order.

My friend and I wanted ramen and this place has excellent vegetarian ramen. It's as good as Marufuku, without the lines and the noise. One portion is big enough to share, but since a serving has one egg, it's easier to get two portions and take home what you can't eat.

We have been looking for a good Japanese restaurant in Oakland since our favorite local restaurant Takara closed a few years ago. Haruki is now our place to have lunch or dinner! The food is tasty, reasonably priced and the portions are generous, perhaps enough to take home for another meal! The menu is varied, with sushi, noodles, donbori choices, and combinations plates. There are lunch specials with great bento selections. Give this restaurant a try - you will like it!

found this place walking down College avenue and didn't expect to end with such a delicious experience!! We were reluctant at first since this place didn't have many reviews, and it seemed pretty empty for a friday night but i'm so glad tried it and i cant wait to go back. Ambience: 10/10 Very spacious, calming, and clean! Felt very relaxing and a great place to get dinner for a nice dining experience that is also casual. Food: 9.5/10 The food was super delicious and had big portions! I got the veggie miso ramen and it had a delicious broth and generous serving of vegetables (which were cooked perfectly) and ramen. The broth was so flavorful and warming but not too heavy. The takoyaki was also delicious - it was crispy on the outside, not overly mushy on the inside, and had a lot of octopus pieces! The tempura was also so crispy and satisfying! They also give a dipping sauce that is very spicy but pairs really well with the fried tempura. We were so delighted to receive a complimentary dessert after our meal - the orange was chilled and so juicy, and such a refreshing way to end the meal! Service: 8/10 The service did seem a bit slow sometimes given that it didn't seem that busy, but the waitress was super sweet and attentive when we did see her!!

You know what?! I like it. I really really do. I have seen this place revamp themselves a few times now. The location is awkward which makes it tough for business, but I am always rooting for them. This is "Momo Ramen" reformed and it's still as delicious as it was when it first opened. Their menu is generous. I'm usually not a fan of places that offer a ton of items on their menu. However, the chefs at Haruki know what they're doing. In the past, I've generally always stuck with their ramen (which they still offer). But after this rebranding, I decided to give their bento box a try. First things first; they have some bomb ass lunch specials! Everything is so expensive these days, so when I come across a great deal, I go for it. Their lunch bento comes with a ton of food for a great price. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento which comes with rice, salad, mixed tempura, gyoza, and miso soup. You can add select rolls and sides for $3 more during lunch, so I added a California roll. Let me tell you; everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The chicken teriyaki was charred to perfection and super moist. Also loved that they included gyoza because you usually have to choose between that and mixed tempura. Both were crispy and lightly seasoned. The California roll wasn't the highest quality (tasted like mayo), but it was still fresh. I love that they bring an entire pitcher of water to your table so you can fill your water yourself as you please. The miso soup was very soothing and tasty. Can't forget to mention the extra snacks too! They brought over a small plate of edamame before my meal arrived and a beautifully cut orange at the end of the meal. Everyone from the cooks to the server are so friendly and service was excellent. The only small nitpick that I have is with the salad. The dressing is too acidic and they use iceberg lettuce which doesn't hold up well. But hey... it's just salad, right?! Very excited about this rebranding into Haruki. I hope that this spot continues to thrive and I'm excited to come back for more really soon.
